THE BAKERY

It's time I posted some information about this strange little town that we are spending so much time in. Quartzsite, AZ - around 3000 people most of the year. Come January it expands to about 1,000,000 people. What started out as a gem and rock show has turned into this mega RV rally site. Prospectors used to get together in Quartzsite to sell their wares. Then snowbirds discovered the beautiful weather when they came to check out the wares and decided to stick around. Of course, that brought in a few more businesses. Which brought more snowbirds and then the RVers figured out what was going on. As more RVers came for the month - this brought more people selling their "wares". It has just grown and grown until it's turned into this "must see at least once" experience.

We are here to celebrate the Graduation of the Class of 2009. We are members of the Escapees RV Group who became full time rvers in 2009. One of the traditions of the classes that came before us is to meet in January of the following year and have a graduation ceremony. So here we are.

So I'm going to be posting some of the things that we have found as we explore the area. This one is one of my favorite - it involves food of course. This bakery has some fantastic wares to sell. Homemade breads are one of my biggest downfalls. And their pies look fantastic. In fact we're headed back there this morning. This was a definite redo.
